  • Missed signing up for examination?
All students must sign up for examination two weeks before the first day of the examination period at the latest. Several students have missed this for March period and this time we will therefor have more guards and rooms compared to what should have been needed according to the number of students that have signed up. Even students who have not signed up for examination can in most cases count on having the possibility to do the examination. In some cases, this may mean, that for example the examination will be done in another building.
For Easter period signing up for examination should be done by 3 April 2006.
In the Academic Year you can see the dates for all the coming examination periods.

  • Exam times in the Student Portal
You can now see the exam times for the spring term in the Student Portal. (2006-01-24)

  • Personal identity number (Personnummer)
Chalmers is using a temporary 'Chalmers identity number' for students that not yet have a regular Personal identity number (PIN). A PIN is necessary for contacts with Swedish authorities but also useful e. g. if you would like to have a bank account or a telephone subscription. You can apply for a PIN at the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). Please see page 7 in the 'Guide for visiting students'. Please inform the Student Centre Maskingränd about your PIN when you get one. You have to show the paper you recieve from the Tax Agency with your PIN or an ID-card with your PIN. It facilitates both for you and for Chalmers if we use your PIN. (2005-10-05)

  • Examination sign-up
From the autumn 2005, according to decision (C 2005/513), sign-up for examinations is mandatory. The sign-up is done in the Student Portal, you will find the link on the startpage and in Personal Information. You have to have a registration for the course, but not passed the course, in order to be able to sign up for the examination. A registration made an earlier term is also valid. (2005-09-19)

  • Address
Please let us know your permanent address when you get one. Send an e-mail to bojo@chalmers.se. We need a correct address when we send out transcripts and other information by mail. (2005-08-31)

  • Work opportunities
Our department uses students as lab supervisors. To become a supervisor, you are normally expected to have taken the course you are supervising on. Thus you can usually start working as supervisor the second year of studies. Please contact Börje Johansson for more information.
There are several companies that are hiring out people to other companies. You can yourself decide how much you would like to work. Some companies in the IT-business are: Academic Work, StudentConsulting and Teknologkonsult are hiring students (Teknologkonsult students from Chalmers).
There are also several organisations working with adult eduction, e.g. in IT. I think that most of them want teachers that know Swedish: (2004-09-21)
