Bike polo

A lot of my free time in Portland is spend doing bike stuff, ranging from doing wrenching for myself and friends to the real game of titans: Bike polo, PDX style. This means playing on asphalt on inexpensive single speed mountainbikes, minibikes, or beaters, using homemade mallets. The Portland version of bike polo is a very fast paced contact sport, as opposed to the mild mannered standard bike polo you may have heard about. My interest in bike mechanics grew out of me being that rare american creature: The guy without a drivers license.

DIY culture

Home brewing, screen printing, vegan cooking, gardening, sewing. The list goes on and on. Awesome stuff.

Listening to good music

Music rocks! Growing up, I was very into electronic music, ranging from Kraftwerk to experimental stuff. This was followed by a phase of interest in 70s reggae, jungle, and hip hop. Lately I find that I am something of an omnivore. I am currently listening to a lot of releases from Warp.

Reading comics

I have closely followed the adventures of Neil Gaiman's Sandman, and the Preacher. In addition to these, I like a lot of Vertigo's other publications, such as Transmetropolitan and the Invisibles. For those of you who speak Swedish, I recommend back-issues of the Galago magazine, which is a good source of quality comics. Some of the late 80s and early 90s stuff is mindblowingly good.

Other things

I have been into a number of things over the yeards that I currenty don't have the time to pursue. Examples include Shorinji Kempo (I did this for a long time, stopping a year or so after I got a shodan black belt), making music, bouldering etc. etc.
