Escuela Superior Lationamericana de Informática (ESLAI):
(1986-1990) It was an undergraduate school in computing science in
Argentina, situated in a beautiful park one hour away from Buenos
Aires, and half an hour from La Plata. It attracted many students from
different Latin American countries, had connections with other
universities in the region (mainly with the INCO in Uruguay) and
established important agreements with people, universities and
organizations in Europe which made it possible for ESLAI to receive
highly qualified visitors for shorter or longer terms, and this in
turn opened possibilities for the students to become postgraduate
students in different universities. Many of the former members of the
community of ESLAI are reachable through the e-mail alias: eslai@pst.informatik.uni-muenchen.de
maintained by Luis Mandel
. ESLAI closed down because of the lack of financial support. It
has been known by EXLAI since.
